Teaser

Someday I'll get around to posting pictures from my friends' visit but for now, here we are at Exit Glacier in Seward. Many more to follow when I find the time. Thought I'd do a long post yesterday but I ended up going fishing and then I had to filet my three sockeye salmon, freeze them, take the guts to the dump, fix up the eggs for Silver fishing, it was a long day. So maybe tomorrow.

Inappropriate Humor

Found this on a free book cart. So wrong, so funny. Or is it just me?

Update not with Norm McDonald

The visit was awesome and exhausting. I'm still recovering. I think we got to just about every attraction on the peninsula and then when my guests went home, I went halibut fishing. Remember the girl who could go on any boat/vehicle/roller coaster and never get sick? Gone. But I'll tell you about that later.

I turned over my camera for the week and the girls and guy got some great photos. I'll post them when I can but for now I'm at a house with no wireless babysitting a big, whiny, german shepard. This gig ends on Sunday though and I still haven't found a place to live. So far my best option is hostel hoping but I have my fingers crossed that the owners of the old apartment have a cabin open. Chances are slim to none during the fishing high season though. That's ok, I like bunk beds.

Five aM IN A HOSTEL with a weird Computer

Picked up the girls from the airport last night. I love airports. I just love watching people and the airport, especially the arrivals gate, is the very best place for it. It feels so weird to have actual people that I actually know here and I can't wait to show them everything. So far we met up with one of my Anchorage friends to see some bluegrassy type live music and a bunch of white hippie epileptics seize painfully on the dance floor. So, so WHITE.
Anyhow, now we're at a hostel and I (of course) couldn't sleep and have been up for an hour now. I'll be watching The Smurfs in the common room with strangers for ages waiting for normal sleepers to wake up. Then we can begin our tour at Snow City Cafe, the only place to have breakfast if you're ever in Anchorage.
I probably won't be posting much over the next few days. Nothing new, right? But, I will be taking lots of photos and writing posts in my head to transfer to the world wide webs when I get a chance. On the agenda: a craft beer festival in Girdwood, lunch in Hope, hike to a glacier and hike the Russian Falls... and that's just today.
